During peak season, there are 2,468 sites located within 13 campgrounds offering a variety of services. Demand is heaviest from June through September, with July and August being the busiest. Arrive early - unless reserved, sites are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please confirm opening date before planning your visit as campground maintenance may delay opening date.

Bow Valley Campgrounds

Several campgrounds are located in the Bow Valley, East of Canmore, Alberta:

Bow River Campground
1 km E of Canmore on the Trans Canada (Hwy. 1).

Three Sisters Campground

Lac Des Arcs Campground

Mount Kidd RV Park

Mount Kidd RV Park and Campground provides year-round full-serviced and semi-serviced sites catering to all types of units from full size motor homes to tents. The Camper's Center features a store with groceries, coffee bar, sitting room, shower facilities, children's wading pool, saunas, coin laundry and whirlpool tub. Tennis courts, horseshoe pits and volleyball court are located adjacent to the Camper's Center and all roads within the campground area are paved. During July and August, live interpretive amphitheatre and a children's program presentations are offered five days per week.

Wapiti Campgroundis located at the Northwest end of the Town of Canmore, just off Bow Valley Trail, adjacent to the Travel Alberta Information Centre.

William Watson Lodge

Accommodation for Albertans with disabilities as well as senior citizens of Alberta. William Watson Lodge is situated in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, overlooking the Lower Kananaskis Lake. The facilities are open year round and consist of a main lodge for day use, 22 accessible cabins and campground with full-service campsites. Summer activities and amenities include barrier-free hiking trails, picnic and fishing areas and interpretive programs. A double tracked cross-country trails is available in the winter to assist persons with disabilities and visual impairments.
