Kananaskis Country offers a variety of campgrounds, camping and RV facilities. From rudimentary backcountry camping to full service RV hookups, the area holds some of the most scenic camping in Canada. Kananaskis Country has two broad types of camping - "vehicle-access" and "backcountry." Vehicle-access camping is either individual campsites or group camping areas. Camping in vehicle-access campgrounds ranges from all hook-ups (power, water and sewer) to basic with no services.

William Watson Lodge
Accommodation for Albertans with disabilities as well as senior citizens of Alberta. William Watson Lodge is situated in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, overlooking the Lower Kananaskis Lake. The facilities are open year round and consist of a main lodge for day use, 22 accessible cabins and campground with full-service campsites. Summer activities and amenities include barrier-free hiking trails, picnic and fishing areas and interpretive programs. A double tracked cross-country trails is available in the winter to assist persons with disabilities and visual impairments.

During peak season, there are 2,468 sites located within 13 campgrounds offering a variety of services. Demand is heaviest from June through September, with July and August being the busiest. Arrive early - unless reserved, sites are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please confirm opening date before planning your visit as campground maintenance may delay opening date.

We are situated in the Heart of Canmore, wander 10 minutes down the boardwalk to Main Street, where you will discover art galleries, restaurant, shops and more.

Since 1992, Sundance Lodges has offered "adventure accommodation" - beautiful tipis and comfortable trapper's tents, as well as, un-serviced secluded campsites - to visitors from Alberta and around the world.

Mount Kidd RV Park
Mount Kidd RV Park and Campground provides year-round full-serviced and semi-serviced sites catering to all types of units from full size motor homes to tents. The Camper's Center features a store with groceries, coffee bar, sitting room, shower facilities, children's wading pool, saunas, coin laundry and whirlpool tub. Tennis courts, horseshoe pits and volleyball court are located adjacent to the Camper's Center and all roads within the campground area are paved. During July and August, live interpretive amphitheatre and a children's program presentations are offered five days per week.
